found again

Here's another "found" haiku. For some reason I have this book called "Christian Retirement" from 1849 - hence the old fashioned language - written by an English reverend (I guess) who must have been inspired by Ignatius de Loyola. He seems to have been a fire and brimstone kind of priest or just very zealous. My guess is that he tried to convert Roman Catholic monastic spirituality to be used in a C. of E. context.

Pardon me - rengay (solo, uncollaborative & grumpy)

Pardon me

cherry blossoms …
(pardon me if i
don't swoon)

in the ant-hill
sudden outbursts of “sweet” & “lovely”

it's the season
i arm myself
with antihistamines

bend necks
convinced now of
our lemming nature

beneath a pink cloud
head full of screaming guitars

deep breathing
the rattle goes away
after coffee

a haibun

The heat comes on strong and unexpected. As it does every year. From seemingly out of nowhere swifts and swallows cruise beneath a blue blue sky as if nothing was wrong in the world. I wonder – because I'm hopelessly vain – if I am presented with yet another image of my thought-pattern but settle with the thought that they're only chasing insects.

here & there & up & down the lilac scent doesn't seem to mind me

Analyzing penguins ;-)

Jack Galmitz has kindly written an analysis of my bilingual haiku book “Penguins/Pingviner – 122 haiku”. I am very honored he chose to do that and grateful for him reading the poems in this way. As Jack himself is a well known haijin with excellent publications to prove his skills I am doubly honored.

white sky - renray (solo & experimental)

white sky
the days of floating
on ethereal sounds begin

1st day of summer
I dream of endless (and clean) city scapes

music for airports
a scratching needle
breaks the illusion

a US made thesaurus
misinterprets
my intententenions

the still air
penetrated by swallows

amidst the dreaming
a physical need makes me
return to clay
